COMMUNITY MANAGER

Coho Strathcona

This role is the Voice of the Coho Kitchen, a vital bridge between our members and our management team - holding Coho Commissary accountable to providing the best quality services to our members. Please note: this position is paid through free kitchen space (40 hours per week) at Coho Commissary.

This role will:

  • SHARE MEMBER STORIES

    • Find innovative ways to showcase our entrepreneurs, produce social media content, conduct interviews, and more.

  • ADVOCATE FOR COMMISSARY MEMBERS

    • The community manager will conduct a monthly satisfaction report with all current members, and report the results anonymously to Coho management. In addition, this role will be part of strategy discussions to address concerns.

  • REPRESENT COHO AT COMMUNITY EVENTS

    • Coho is a learning organization. We will attend industry events, community workshops, and more to learn and bring back to commissary members. This role will also evangelize Coho within the community.

  • ON-SITE FACILITY MANAGEMENT

    • 20 hours per week of direct management at the facility, including booking optimization, facility tours, VCH on-boarding support for new members ensuring predictable process, event prep within and outside the facility.

Requirements of the Role:

  • THE RIGHT ATTITUDE

    • Being an advocate on behalf of the whole kitchen requires a certain degree of tact. The community manager will be required to build relationships with tenants and management to communicate effectively.

 

  • FOOD PRODUCTION EXPERTISE

    • Have an existing food business or relevant experience that would allow you to provide insight and wisdom to fellow members.

 

  • EXISTING MEMBER

    • The community manager must be a current or prospective member of our commissary. We will compensate you through discounted membership fees.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA CHOPS

    • You have an existing Instagram and online presence. You've proven that you understand all the # and growth strategies required to grow a following. This skill will be used on behalf of the Commissary and its members.

 

  • THE CAPACITY

    • Running a successful food business is hard. While this role will subsidize your kitchen costs, the 20 hour time burden could have an impact. Be realistic about what you can take on.
